A Baldwin Hills man was charged Wednesday with murder for allegedly stabbing a man following a dispute at a South Los Angeles bus stop a day after Christmas.
Tyron Darell Vazquez, 33, is set to be arraigned Feb. 22 in a downtown Los Angeles courtroom in connection with the Dec. 26 slaying of Alejandro Saenz, 36, of South Los Angeles.
The murder charge includes an allegation that Vazquez used a knife in the commission of the crime.
The two men got into a physical altercation after they left a public transit bus at Central and Vernon avenues in South Los Angeles, and Vazquez allegedly fled from the area after stabbing Saenz multiple times, according to prosecutors. Saenz died at a hospital.
Vazquez was arrested Monday by Los Angeles police after being identified with the help of images released by investigators to the public, prosecutors said.
He’s being held in lieu of $2 million bail and could face a maximum of 26 years to life in state prison if convicted as charged, according to the District Attorney’s Office.
