
One person was killed and a Los Angeles county sheriff’s deputy was injured in a shootout with suspects in Compton that led to a pursuit that ended in Inglewood.
The shooting occurred in the 400 block of West Spruce Street, near Oleander Avenue, at 11:35 p.m. Wednesday and prompted a pursuit that ended near Manchester Boulevard and Inglewood Avenue, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
The suspects fired several shots into a patrol car, the LASD said.
One person was killed and a deputy suffered minor injuries in the shooting, NBC4 reported.
The suspects fled their vehicle at the end of the pursuit and a search of the area was conducted, the sheriff’s department said.
The vehicle was described as a black Cadillac Escalade that was either armored or had bullet-proof windows, ABC7 reported.
A description of the suspects was not available.
The age, gender and name of the victim was not disclosed.
