Two boys were injured Thursday in a fight across the street from Mulholland Middle School in Lake Balboa, police said.
The fight occurred about 3 p.m. in the 17100 block of Vanowen Street near Balboa Boulevard, says Officer Tony Im of the Los Angeles Police Department.
One of the juveniles, apparently beaten with a skateboard was taken to a hospital, the other says he was stabbed and also went to a hospital, according to police.
Numerous suspects — some armed with scissors — were engaged in the fight, during which, one boy was on the ground, being beaten with a skateboard. He was taken to a hospital in unknown condition, according to Im and LAPD Sgt. Rudy Perez.
Later, a boy entered a hospital claiming stab wounds and said he used the skateboard to beat the other boy, who stabbed him with a sharp object, Perez said.
Multiple people of interest are in custody, Perez said.
The Los Angeles School Police Department is handling the case.
