A 16-year-old boy inside a car involved in an Armenian-American activist caravan was killed Friday when it hit a wall on the eastbound Santa Monica (10) Freeway and flipped.
The driver of the white Dodge Challenger lost control and crashed about 3:20 p.m. near Crenshaw Boulevard, according to the California Highway Patrol and Fox11. All occupants of the vehicle were 16-year-old boys, Fox11 reported.
The Los Angeles Fire Department took three patients to a hospital, but further information was not available, according to LAFD’s Margaret Stewart.
A witness told the California Highway Patrol the car was part of a caravan to commemorate the 105th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.
It was not immediately clear if other cars were involved in the collision.
