Police Monday circulated a video of vehicles involved in a fatal hit-and-run in South Los Angeles, and a $50,000 reward is available for information leading to the suspects’ arrests.
The 49-year-old victim was walking westbound on Vernon Avenue Thursday night when he was struck by a light-colored SUV just east of Wall Street — which launched him into the eastbound lanes of Vernon Avenue, where he was struck by a light-colored Dodge Charger, the Los Angeles Police Department reported.
Officers responded to the crash scene at about 10:25 p.m. Thursday. Paramedics rushed the victim, who had multiple blunt force trauma injuries, to a hospital, where he died shortly after his arrival.
Police said both drivers failed to stop, identify themselves or render aid.
Authorities released video of the suspect vehicles Monday and announced a $50,000 reward for anyone providing information leading to the suspects’ identification, arrests and convictions.
Anyone with information about the drivers was encouraged to contact Detective Calvin Dehesa at 213-833-3713. Those wishing to report anonymously can call 800-222-TIPS.
