Police asked for the public’s help Sunday in finding a missing 64-year-old man diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease who went missing in Hemet.
James Kaleihele Brown was last seen at a family gathering at about 10 p.m. Saturday in the 900 block of West Fruitvale Avenue, according to the Hemet Police Department.
His family believes Brown may have walked away from the home where the gathering was taking place, police said.
A Riverside County sheriff’s bloodhound assisting in the search followed the trail down the street but lost the scent a few blocks west.
Brown was described as being 5-feet-11 inches and weighing 190 pounds. He has salt-and-pepper hair and brown eyes, and was last seen wearing an orange hat, black shirt, black pants and red shoes.
The California Highway Patrol issued a Silver Alert for Brown as the Hemet police continue to search for him.
Anyone who sees Brown was asked to call Hemet police at 951-765-2400.
