Police Monday hunted two gunmen who wounded an innocent 10-year-old boy as the young victim was playing near a Pasadena street corner.
Few details were available about the shooting, and it wasn’t clear what the motive may have been in the attack.
Police asked for help in the investigation from witnesses or the public. Officers did not speculate if the child, who was hospitalized but reportedly conscious, had been a purposeful target or an unintentional victim in the line of fire.
The shooting took place Sunday near the Villa Parke area of Pasadena.
The gunshots were fired near Parke Street and Garfield Avenue about 3 p.m., according to Pasadena police.
Two men exited a vehicle and fired shots toward the area where the child was playing, Pasadena police Lt. Carolyn Gordon told City News Service. Police did not immediately have any descriptions of the suspects, she said.
