Authorities Thursday sought public help to find the motorist responsible for the hit-and-run death of a 74-year-old pedestrian in the Hyde Park area in March.
John Draper, who walked with a cane, was hit by a speeding pickup truck about 9:40 p.m. on March 19 at Crenshaw and Hyde Park boulevards.
The truck was described as a gray Ford F-150 pickup with Arizona license plates, the Los Angeles Police Department reported. No driver description was available.
Police released security images of the suspect’s vehicle and the crash. A standing reward of up to $50,000 is offered by the city of Los Angeles for information that helps solve a fatal hit-and-run.
Anyone with information on the case was urged to call LAPD South Traffic Division detectives at 323-421-2500 or 323-421-2577; 877-LAPD-247; or Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS.
