A suspect was killed and an officer wounded Friday evening in a shootout outside of the La Habra Police Department station.
The wounded officer was taken to a trauma center where he was listed in critical but stable condition, police said.
A firearm was recovered at the scene, police said.
Los Angeles County Fire Department paramedics responded just after 7:10 p.m. to the station at 150 N. Euclid St., according to a department spokesman.
The names of both the officer and suspect have not been released.
