An 82-year-old man who authorities say is partially blind and suffers from dementia was reported missing Tuesday in Carson.
Alex Gonzalez Mendoza was last seen at approximately 6:30 a.m. in the 900 block of Sepulveda Boulevard, said Deputy Miguel Meza of the Los Angeles County Sheriffs Department’s Information Bureau, which asked the California Highway Patrol to issue a Silver Alert on its behalf.
Mendoza is Latino, 5-feet-8 inches tall, weighs 180 pounds, has white hair, brown eyes and is missing a front tooth.
Anyone with information about Mendoza or his whereabouts is encouraged to contact the sheriff’s Missing Persons Unit at 323 890-5500. Anonymous tips can be called in to Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477 or submitted online at lacrimestoppers.org.
The Silver Alert program was established by the CHP to issue and coordinate alerts involving the unexplained or suspicious disappearance of elderly, developmentally disabled or cognitively impaired individuals.
