A person was killed Sunday when a vehicle went down an embankment on the northbound San Gabriel River (605) Freeway in Whittier.
The crash occurred at 6:15 a.m. just west of Whittier Boulevard, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Firefighters and paramedics dispatched to the location at 6:18 a.m. did not take anyone to a hospital, according to a Los Angeles County Fire Department dispatcher.
