A fire that erupted Thursday in a Mead Valley transient camp destroyed two motor homes, a travel trailer and two vehicles before it was stopped.

The blaze was reported about 2:05 p.m. in the 19000 block of Seaton Avenue, near Cajalco Road, just west of Interstate 215, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.

The agency said that multiple engine crews and truck companies were sent to the location and encountered flames raging in the two motor homes, extending to two cars and the coach parked nearby, as well as consuming debris piles.

Initially, there were reports that an occupant of one of the motor homes was injured, but that information was later determined to be false.

At 2:40 p.m., the blaze was fully contained. Crews were expected to continue mopping up until about 5 p.m.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
