A fire was burning in a residence in Hawthorne Wednesday.
Firefighters were sent to the 4700 block of West 136th Street at about 8:50 a.m., the Los Angeles County Fire Department reported.
The fire was still burning about 45 minutes later, and crews went into a defensive mode, working to prevent the flames from spreading to other structures, the fire department reported.
No injuries were immediately reported.
