A Silver Alert was in effect Wednesday in Los Angeles and San Bernardino counties for a missing 61-year-old woman.
Ruth Gutierrez was last seen at approximately 3:55 p.m. Tuesday in Upland in San Bernardino County, according to the California Highway Patrol, which issued a Silver Alert on behalf of the Upland Police Department.
Gutierrez is Latina, 4 feet, 11 inches tall, weighs 150 pounds, has gray hair and brown eyes. She is believed to be on foot and was last seen wearing a tan jacket, a black and white striped shirt, black leggings and red shoes.
Anyone who sees Gutierrez or knows of her whereabouts was asked to call 911.
The Silver Alert program was established by the CHP to issue and coordinate alerts involving the unexplained or suspicious disappearance of elderly, developmentally disabled or cognitively impaired individuals.
