A 28-year-old homeless man who moved to California suspected of robbing a Wells Fargo bank branch in Santa Monica Tuesday was arrested shortly after fleeing on a bicycle, police said.

Jordan Thomas Franzino used a demand note to rob the branch in the 100 block of Broadway, near Ocean Avenue, of approximately $1,100, according to Santa Monica Police Department Lt. Erika Aklufi.

A description of the suspect and direction of travel were broadcast to police officers and a short time later he was located in the 2000 block of Ocean Front Walk, near Pico Boulevard, about seven-tenths of a mile from the bank, Aklufi said.

Franzino was positively identified by witnesses and arrested, still in possession of the money, Aklufi said.
