A brush fire that broke out Monday in a field surrounded by businesses was stopped after burning less than an acre.
The non-injury blaze was reported about 3:20 p.m. in the area of Seaton Avenue and Cajalco Road, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
The agency said multiple engine crews were sent to the location and encountered flames moving at a slow rate through medium vegetation.
Using roads as natural fire breaks and despite 100-degree heat, firefighters were able to encircle the brusher within a half-hour, preventing it from reaching a recycling center and other businesses along Cajalco.
No Cal Fire aircraft were requested to help put down the blaze.
Crews were expected to finish mopping up by 6 p.m.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
