A sheriff’s deputy was transported to a hospital Saturday evening after being discovered in front of the Palmdale sheriff’s station in need of medical attention, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
The LASD tweeted shortly before 7:40 p.m. that the deputy was “found in medical distress” in front of the station about 6 p.m. and transported to a local hospital.
A videographer at the scene reported that the deputy went down in front of the station and was initially transported in a patrol car, then via ambulance to Antelope Valley Medical Center in unknown condition. He added that Sierra Highway was blocked off from Technology Drive to Palmdale Boulevard, among other area closures, including Sixth Street East between Avenue Q and Palmdale Boulevard.
