An 11-year-old child was airlifted to a hospital after a sledding accident in the Angeles National Forest.
The child, whose gender was not immediately available, was airlifted Sunday to Children’s Hospital Los Angeles aboard a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Air Rescue 5 helicopter, according to the LASD.
The child’s condition was not clear, and no further information was released.
Sheriff’s officials indicated the accident had occurred at the Mountain High resort, but resort officials said it “took place in the Angeles Forest area, nearly a half-mile from Mountain High Resorts.”
“Our thoughts are with the injured individual and we wish her a speedy recovery,” resort officials said in a statement.
Snow blanketed the mountains this weekend in Los Angeles County, with levels falling quickly to about 3,000 feet late Saturday, according to the National Weather Service.
