An employee of the Menifee Union School District was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of possession of child pornography.
Tristan Dario Perez, 28, was booked into the Byrd Detention Center in Murrieta on the felony allegation following an investigation by the multi-agency Riverside County Crimes Against Children Task Force.
Perez is being held in lieu of $10,000 bail.
According to Menifee police spokesman Chase Coburn, local personnel assisted with the task force investigation, culminating in sufficient evidence being obtained to justify an arrest warrant, which was served on Perez Tuesday afternoon at a residence on Las Flores Drive in Menifee.
He was taken into custody without incident.
“Currently, there is no reason to believe that any students or members of the community are victims of Perez,” Coburn said.
Details concerning how the suspect was linked to child pornography were not disclosed, and there was no word on how long or in what specific capacity Perez was employed by the Menifee Union School District.
Calls to the MUSD for comment were not immediately returned.
Anyone with information relevant to the investigation was asked to contact detectives at 951-723-1613.
