Three felons were arrested early Tuesday following a weapons-related search warrant that was served in Coachella, where two firearms, ammunition and suspected fentanyl were found, authorities said.

Coachella residents Pedro Gonzalez, 26, and Miguel Gonzalez, 46, were arrested with Giovanni Huerta, 28, of Thermal on Tuesday morning in the 85000 block of Cairo Street, according to Sgt. Tom Anderson of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department. It was not clear whether Pedro and Miguel Gonzalez were related.

The Coachella Community Action Team, Southern Coachella Valley Community Services District Team, Coachella Valley Violent Crime Gang Task Force and Emergency Services Team served a search warrant at a residence in the area at 5 a.m. that day, Anderson said.

“During the search warrant service, deputies located two firearms, one of which was reported stolen, ammunition and suspected fentanyl,” Anderson wrote in a statement.

Pedro and Miguel Gonzalez were subsequently arrested on suspicion of possessing a stolen firearm and being felons in possession of a firearm and ammunition, according to Anderson. Pedro Gonzalez was additionally suspected of being in possession of a firearm and narcotics, child endangerment and committing a felony while out on bail.

Huerta was arrested on suspicion of violating the terms of his parole because he removed his GPS monitoring device, Anderson said. The three suspects were all booked into the John J. Benoit Detention Center in Indio.

Huerta remains held without bail and Pedro Gonzalez was being held on a $250,000 bail bond, according to inmate records. No inmate information was immediately available for Miguel Gonzalez.
