Long Beach police were searching for a man accused of being involved in a domestic violence incident Friday after a SWAT deployment.
A SWAT team responded to a building on the 2400 block of Atlantic Avenue around 8:00 p.m. Thursday when the suspect made a statement that ”he would shoot officers if they arrive,” according to a statement from Long Beach Police Department.
Police initially responded to a domestic violence incident between the man and a woman, authorities said.
Video from the scene showed multiple SWAT team vehicles deployed to the building. The street was closed off and officers can be seen and heard using flash bangs explosive devices at the scene.
Police searched the building after obtaining a search warrant and determined the suspect was not in the residence, the LBPD said.
The investigation is ongoing.
