Two men were wounded in two shootings within a few blocks about 20 minutes apart in the Watts area of Los Angeles Saturday evening and investigators did not know whether the crimes were related.
The first shooting occurred at 8:58 p.m. Saturday in the alley behind the10400 block of South Wilmington Avenue, Los Angeles Police Department Officer Drake Madison told City News Service.
A man in his 30s was found in the alley unconscious and not breathing and paramedics rushed him to a hospital for treatment, Madison said. The suspect was described as a man in his late 30s.
At 9:20 p.m., another shooting was reported at 107th Street and Wilmington Avenue, he said.
The shooting locations are just east of the Watts Towers.
The victim of the second shooting, described as possibly a man about 60 years old, was attacked by two men aged 18 or 19, at least one of them wielding a semiautomatic handgun, Madison said.
That victim was also taken to a hospital by paramedics in unknown condition, he said.
