A pedestrian was killed in a hit and run collision Saturday on the Sixth Street Bridge in Boyle Heights.
Los Angeles Police officers from the department’s Hollenbeck Division responded at 2:23 a.m. to reports of a person down near the bridge. When they arrived, they found the pedestrian lying in the roadway, an LAPD spokeswoman told City News Service.
Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics were called and pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
According to witnesses, the driver was last seen speeding west toward downtown Los Angeles from the Boyle Heights side of the bridge.
There was no vehicle description.
The name, age or gender of the pedestrian was not known.
