A 61-year-old pedestrian struck and killed in Van Nuys was identified Thursday by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner.
Los Angeles Police Department officers were called at 11:30 p.m. Wednesday to the intersection of Hazeltine Avenue and Burbank Boulevard where they found the man, an LAPD spokesman told City News Service.
Mark Morey was pronounced dead at the scene by Los Angeles Fire Department personnel.
According to witnesses, the driver was traveling west on Burbank when their vehicle struck Morey, police said.
The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with police.
