An investigation was underway Friday into the death of a woman killed in Valle Vista by an unknown assailant.
The victim, whose identity was not immediately released, died shortly before 5 p.m. Wednesday at a residence in the 25000 block of Minorca Street, near Palm Avenue, just south of the Soboba Indian Reservation, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
Sgt. Rafael Victorio said that patrol deputies were called to the location to investigate “a suspicious circumstance” and found the woman “with trauma” that had caused her death, though he wasn’t more specific.
Central Homicide Unit detectives were summoned and took over the investigation.
Victorio did not disclose whether they had identified a suspect or suspects as of Friday morning.
