Police descended on Benjamin Franklin High School in Highland Park Wednesday and arrested a suspect after an altercation between two students led to a stabbing.
The attack occurred around 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, just outside the school at 820 N. Ave. 54, a little north of Arroyo Seco (110) Parkway.
Just after 9 a.m. Wednesday, an advisory issued by the school principal noted the campus was on lockdown but all instructional programs and food services were continuing as usual.
In an update around 11 a.m., a spokesperson for the Los Angeles Unified School District said the stabbing involved two students from the high school.
The suspect fled the scene into a nearby neighborhood, KTLA5 reported. The suspect was later taken into custody, according to the LAUSD.
The victim’s condition was not immediately available.
