Investigators Friday released disturbing video in the hope of identifying an SUV driver who fatally injured a 43-year-man at a Sun Valley gas station lot then left without helping the victim or calling for assistance.

The initial call came in about 6:05 a.m. Tuesday for a man down in the area of Laurel Canyon and Roscoe boulevards, according to Los Angeles Police Department Officer Kevin Terzes.

The victim, later identified by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner as Erik Florer, was lying between two empty parking stalls when he was run over by a dark-colored Hummer EV SUV.

After running over Florer, the SUV driver continued toward the station’s convenience store and stopped to pick up a passenger described only as a male. Both the driver and passenger appear to be men.

“The SUV then fled (north on) Pendleton Street,” police said in a news release.

Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded and pronounced Florer dead at the scene.

Investigators remained at the scene two hours after his body was found.

Anyone with information that could help investigators solve the case was urged to call the LAPD’s Valley Traffic Division at 818-644-8119 and ask for Officer Gallo, or Detective Barragan at 8186-44-8028. Anonymous tips can be provided through Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477.
