The mother of a 2-year-old boy who died from fentanyl ingestion in Palmdale was charged Monday with murder.
Anaie Flores, 23, was arrested at 3:30 p.m. Friday and booked at the Palmdale Sheriff’s Station, according to sheriff’s inmate information. She was being held at the Lancaster Sheriff’s Station in lieu of $2 million bail.
In addition to murder, Flores was also charged with child abuse resulting in death.
The case dates back to Nov.7, 2023, when Palmdale deputies responded at 5:07 p.m. to the 800 block of East Avenue P-15, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
Angel Flores was found unresponsive and was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead, sheriff’s officials said.
Angel died of the effects of fentanyl toxicity, according to the Medical Examiner’s office, which deemed the child’s death to be an accident.
