A fire that erupted Monday in a mobile home on the north end of Green Acres caused extensive damage but did not spread into surrounding vegetation before it was stopped.
The non-injury blaze was reported at 10:30 a.m. Monday in the 35500 block of Beverley Drive, near Truelson Avenue, in the unincorporated community, located just west of Hemet, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
The agency said multiple engine crews were sent to the location and encountered flames raging in the doublewide trailer, which was apparently vacant.
Firefighters quickly deployed hose lays, preventing the blaze from jumping into surrounding brush, according to officials at the scene.
At 11:05 a.m., the fire was declared 100% contained, with full control anticipated by noon.
Utility lines and gas connections to the mobile home were damaged, prompting requests for SoCal Edison and SoCal Gas Co. technicians to make inspections and repairs, officials said.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
