A 68-year-old pedestrian who was struck and killed in an unincorporated area bordering Compton was identified Tuesday.
California Highway Patrol officers were called at 7:23 p.m. Friday to East 139th Street and Avalon Boulevard in West Rancho Dominguez where they learned the victim was struck by a white sedan, Officer Elizabeth Kravig told City News Service.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by Los Angeles County Fire Department paramedics.
She was identified Tuesday by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner as Georgia Moore.
It was unclear whether the collision was a hit and run, authorities said.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
