The third person who was killed in a double-murder-suicide was identified Thursday by county authorities who ruled that he died by suicide.
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s office determined he was Vien Chi Lu, 71.
Gunfire was reported about 5 a.m. Friday in the 3200 block of Millbury Avenue, near Bresse Avenue, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
In addition to Chi Lu, Thaun Chung, 60, and Bich Lu, 56, Chi Lu’s wife, were killed. Bich Lu and Chi Lu had gunshot wounds to the head. Chung died of multiple gunshot wounds.
Chung and Bich Lu’s deaths were listed as homicides, according to the Los Angeles County medical examiner’s office, which ruled that Chi Lu then shot himself.
Chung was pronounced dead at a hospital, while Bich Lu and Chi Lu died at the scene of the shooting, sheriff’s officials said.
The Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau was assisting Baldwin Park police in the investigation.
The shooting marked the second fatal attack in a week in the area. Around 5 a.m. April 18, a 15-year-old Ontario boy was fatally shot and two Baldwin Park men, aged 20 and 21, were critically injured in a shooting in the 12900 block of Bess Avenue.
