The judge presiding over ongoing litigation between the UC Regents on one side and the Rose Bowl Operating Co. and the city of Pasadena on the other says he’s been getting unsolicited mail about the case from one member of the public.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Joseph Lipner’s clerk issued a minute order on Wednesday informing the attorneys that the letters have come through regular mail, that he has not read them and that he is throwing all of them in the trash.

“The court advises that it will not inform the parties of further unsolicited, unreviewed communications from this person, but will continue to dispose of them unread and without any action being taken on them,” according to the minute order, which adds that the judge has forwarded the mail to the Office of Court Counsel in order to inform the writer that the submissions are not authorized, will not be reviewed or considered and that no action will be taken regarding the letters.

The RBOC and the city of Pasadena contend in the breach of contract/anticipatory repudiation lawsuit filed last Oct. 29 that the Bruins are wrongfully exploring options to move their future home games to another venue, including SoFi Stadium in Inglewood. The RBOC’s suit seeks to enforce the terms of a lease agreement the plaintiff claims locks UCLA into playing football at the venue until 2044.
