Authorities sought the public’s help Tuesday finding a 50-year-old man who allegedly shot a Mecca man to death and wounded another man in the community of North Shore.

The suspect was identified as Adolfo Suarez Lopez, who was described as 5-feet-11-inches tall and 190 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.

Authorities said he is considered armed and dangerous. Lopez was thought to be driving a 2002 Jeep Cherokee with California license plate number 4YBF157.

Deputies responded to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon at 12:08 a.m. Sunday in the 98000 block of Surfside Ave., according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.

They found a 44-year-old man and a 43-year-old man suffering from apparent gunshot wounds and provided medical aid until paramedics arrives a short time later. The 43-year-old was taken to a hospital with stable vital signs, while the other injured man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The deceased victim was identified as Alberto Padron.
