Two suspects were arrested in Murrieta Saturday after allegedly firing gunshots in an open field, authorities announced.
Officers responded to reports of gunshots heard in an open field near Linnel Lane and McElwain Road in the early morning hours on Saturday, according to the Murrieta Police Department.
The Drone First Responder provided officers with a bird’s-eye view of the area and located the two male suspects. One allegedly tossed an item into a nearby bush area where officers say they found an unserialized firearm, along with magazines and brass knuckles.
According to the police department, both suspects were convicted felons and prohibited from possessing firearms. Both were arrested on suspicion of multiple felonies.
