The Los Angeles Police Department was investigating a burglary in a pharmacy that was allegedly committed under cover of a street takeover in Boyle Heights, authorities said Monday.
The street takeover was reported at 10:57 p.m. Sunday at Lorena Street and Whittier Boulevard, LAPD Officer A. Garcia told City News Service.
During the street takeover, suspects broke into a business and officers took a report to begin an investigation, Garcia said.
A video reporter who went to the scene said at least 10 suspects were seen breaking into the pharmacy, leaving food items strewn about the area in their wake.
