One woman died in a traffic collision Friday when a vehicle careened onto a sidewalk and struck a fire hydrant in Los Angeles’ Koreatown neighborhood.
A 30-year-old woman was struck and killed in a traffic collision around 12:35 a.m. Friday at the intersection of Eighth Street and Ardmore Avenue, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department said.
Another woman involved in the collision was transported to the California Hospital Medical Center in an unknown condition, police said.
Video from the scene shows one woman, conscious but distressed, being loaded into an ambulance. Video also shows a vehicle that careened onto a sidewalk completely destroyed.
Further details on how many people and vehicles were involved in the collision were not immediately available.
LAPD personnel were still investigating the scene as of 1:45 a.m.
