A raging fire and explosion on a natural gas truck that closed several lanes of the Harbor (110) Freeway in Carson for several hours is now almost all the way open, the California Highway Patrol reported Friday.

The fire was reported at approximately 11:54 p.m. Thursday near the northbound freeway and 223rd Street , CHP Officer Elizabeth Kravig told City News Service.

The cab of the Caltrans truck was fully engulfed in flames on the right shoulder of the freeway, video from the scene showed. According to reports from the scene, Los Angeles County Fire Department units responded and worked to contain the blaze. No injuries were reported.

The CHP issued a SigAlert for the closure of all lanes of the northbound freeway and the 223d Street exit for several hours.
