The boyfriend of “Shahs of Sunset” star Jessica Parido pleaded not guilty Monday to raping, injuring and stalking his ex-wife.
Karlen “Chris” Shubaralyan, 37, of Sherman Oaks, is facing 10 felony counts in the domestic violence case, including one count each of forcible rape, stalking and first-degree burglary; two counts each of injuring a spouse and dissuading a witness; and three counts of making criminal threats.
The criminal complaint includes allegations that Shubaralyan inflicted great bodily harm and that his ex-wife had a restraining order against him.
Prosecutors allege Shubaralyan began victimizing his ex-wife beginning in 2014 and the latest incident was reported Feb. 8.
If convicted as charged, the defendant faces a possible maximum sentence of more than 25 years in prison.
Nine unrelated felony counts, including grand theft and passing bad checks, were pending against Shubaralyan when he was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence Feb. 18.
He is being held without bail in Men’s Central Jail.
Parido told “Entertainment Tonight” in a November interview that she was in a happy relationship with Shubaralyan just a week after filing for divorce from her husband and reality show co-star Michael Shouhed.
Parido, who was married to Shouhed for eight months, accused him of cheating on her two years earlier, before the marriage began, according to ET.
The Bravo reality show first aired in 2012 and has run for four seasons. The air date of an expected fifth season has not been announced.
