“A Star in Born” with Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper won’t be out until Sept. 28, 2018. (In Greece, it’ll be “Ena asteri gennietai.”) But it’s already birthing excitement.

The traditional irony is that the stars of “Born” are already famous, and don’t need discovering.

“Previous iterations of the film came out in 1937, 1954, and 1976,” Huffington Post reminds. “The 1937 film had Janet Gaynor playing Gaga’s role in the first version, followed by Judy Garland and Barbra Streisand in the 1954 and 1976 versions.”

But Judy and Babs didn’t have social media to turbocharge the promotion machine. Or TMZ to show the stars kissing.

“The duo shot a sexy scene Monday in the California desert, where they will also film scenes on the Coachella grounds during the week … which is super convenient for Lady Gaga, who headlines again this coming weekend,” TMZ show-and-telled.

The story line, according to IMDB: “A movie star helps a young singer/actress find fame, even as age and alcoholism send his own career into a downward spiral.”

Cooper helped write the screenplay, so one assumes he’ll be forgiving with his own character.
