Marvel Comics founder Stan Lee has reportedly filed a report with Beverly Hills police alleging that someone forged a check for $300,000 out of his account and got the check cashed, the website TMZ said.
The alleged fraudulent check was drafted on Oct. 4th. Lee reportedly filed his police report this week when the fraud was discovered by his money managers, TMZ said.
Lee, who celebrated his 95th birthday on Dec. 28, reportedly was adamant that he didn’t write the check. Detectives said they are working to gain back records and get search warrants to investigate the alleged fraud.
City News Service contacted the Beverly Hills police, but a watch commander said he had no information regarding the investigation.
