The ultimate travel adventure for Harry Potter fans is up for grabs in a sweepstakes coinciding with the upcoming opening of “The Wizarding World of Harry Potter” at Universal Studios Hollywood.
Universal Studios and online travel site TripAdvisor announced Tuesday they have teamed up on the contest, which will whisk the winner and three friends on a world tour of the Harry Potter attractions in Hollywood, Universal Orlando Resort in Florida and Universal Studios Japan. The winners will also be taken on a tour of “The Making of Harry Potter” at Warner Bros. Studio in London, the home of all eight Potter films.
Potter fans can enter online at www.tripadvisor.com/wizardingworldhollywood. The entry deadline is Feb. 24.
The winners’ tour will begin with the grand opening of the Universal Studios Hollywood attraction, which is set to debut April 7.
The much-anticipated attraction includes a meticulous recreation of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, with features such as Professor Dumbledore’s office, the Portrait Gallery and the Defence Against the Dark Arts classroom.
The surrounding Hogsmeade village includes shops such as Honeydukes, Owl Post, Wiseacres Wizarding Equipment, Dervish and Banges, Gladrags Wizardwear and Filch’s Emporium of Confiscated Goods.
Also included in the attraction are two rides the 3-D “Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey” and Universal Studios Hollywood’s first outdoor roller coaster, “Flight of the Hippogriff.”
