A brush fire in the San Dimas area Friday scorched about 100 acres and left three firefighters injured, but no homes were threatened and forward progress of the flames was stopped within about five hours.
The fire was reported about 4 a.m. near San Dimas Canyon and Golden Hills roads, northeast of San Dimas Canyon Golf Course, and burned uphill, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
The fire’s size was preliminarily listed at 100 acres about 7 a.m., but was downgraded to 65 acres after about an hour, and again listed at 100 acres as of 11 a.m., with containment at 25%, according to the county fire department.
