A man jumped to his death Sunday from the Seventh Street bridge in downtown Los Angeles despite authorities’ attempts to coax him down.
The drama near 2059 E. Seventh St. began about 4:40 p.m., according to Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman Margaret Stewart.
The man landed in the Los Angeles River bottom, where his body moved with the river’s current, Stewart said.
Firefighters safely recovered the body and turned it over to the coroner’s office, she said. His identity will be withheld pending notification of next of kin.
