The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose Wednesday for the 13th consecutive day, increasing 1.3 cents to $4.714, one day after rising 1.6 cents.

The average price has risen 17.5 cents over the past 12 days, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The streak of rising prices began one day after the end of an 20-day streak of decreases totaling 21.8 cents that dropped the average price to its lowest amount since Jan. 24, 2023.

The average price is 9.4 cents more than one week ago and 6.2 cents higher than one year ago but nine-tenths of a cent less than one month ago. It has dropped $1.78 since rising to a record $6.494 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The Orange County average price rose for the 12th time in 13 days, increasing 2.5 cents to $4.666. It has risen 23.6 cents over the past 13 days, including 1.7 cents Tuesday. The Orange County average price rose nine consecutive days, was unchanged Sunday and resumed increasing Monday.

The Orange County average price is 9.2 cents more than one week ago, 3.9 cents higher than one month ago and 6.5 cents greater than one year ago. It has dropped $1.793 since rising to a record $6.459 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The national average price rose three-tenths of a cent to $3.148 following a run of three decreases in four days totaling nine-tenths of a cent. It is seven-tenths of a cent more than one week ago and 6.9 cents higher than one month ago, but 30.9 cents less than one year ago.

The national average price has dropped $1.868 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
