A driver was ejected and killed Thursday after veering off the roadway and rolling over multiple times.

The motorist, the lone occupant of a Ford Expedition, made an unsafe turning motion at 10:32 a.m. Thursday while eastbound on Interstate 10 slightly west of Cook Street, according to California Highway Patrol Officer David Torres. He then drove off the right shoulder of the roadway and overturned multiple times.

The driver was not wearing his seatbelt, according to Torres, and was ejected from the vehicle. CHP officers are currently on the scene investigating.

Torres said the driver was currently unidentified, and it was unclear whether drugs or alcohol were a factor in the incident.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
