A 16-year-old bicyclist killed in a hit-and-run collision apparently sparked by a road rage incident in South Los Angeles was identified Monday.

Jonathan Flores was killed in the collision, according to the county medical examiner.

The teen was struck in a parking lot of BMO Stadium at 4:36 p.m. Friday, California Highway Patrol Officer Sergio Garcia told City News Service.

Some cyclists riding south on Figueroa Street were involved in an argument with the driver of a blue BMW, who followed them into a parking lot. While turning into the lot, the victim was struck by a black Honda sedan, according to the CHP.

On Saturday, CHP detectives served a search warrant at a residence in Los Angeles and a 28-year-old man was identified as the driver of the Honda. The two cars were also seized as evidence, according to the CHP.

Further description of the suspect was unavailable and the investigation was ongoing.

Anyone with information regarding the crash was asked to call CHP detectives at 323-644-9550 during normal business hours or the Los Angeles Communication Center at 323-259-3200 after hours.
