Television stations KTLA and KNBC were among the top winners during the75th Annual Golden Mikes Awards Show along with KNX and KFI in the radio categories.

The annual awards from the Radio & Television News Association of Southern California were handed out Saturday during a ceremony at the Loews Hollywood Hotel.

KTLA won for Best 60 Minute Newscast, the KTLA News at 10 p.m. KNBC was honored for Best 30 Minute Newscast, NBC4 News at 7 p.m.

For radio, KNX’s LA’s Morning News won for Best Newscast, 15 minutes or longer, while KFI’s 1 p.m. News with Debra Mark won for Best Newscast, 15 minutes or less. In the small market category, KMJ in Fresno won for Best Newscast, 15 minutes or less.

In addition, KNX reporter Pete Demetriou, KABC sports anchor Rob Fukuzaki and KNBC investigative reporter Joel Grover received RTNA Lifetime Achievement Awards along with the late Sam Rubin, KTLA’s longtime entertainment reporter, who was honored posthumously.

The Golden Mike Awards are presented annually by the RTNA, a nonprofit organization that represents Southern California’s broadcast news professionals.

The organization also coordinates TV pool coverage of major Southland news events, fights for freedom of information and provides scholarships for student journalists.

The other TV winners were KABC7 for Best Daytime Newscast, ABC7 News at 6 a.m. and KTTV11 for Best Weekend Newscast, Weekend Fox 11 News at 10 p.m.

KCLU AM/FM, the NPR station serving Ventura and Santa Barbara counties, took home 11 Golden Mikes, the most of any station — large or small.
