With 30 days remaining before the start of the 2026 World Cup in Los Angeles, local organizers will outline preparations Tuesday for hosting matches at SoFi Stadium.

The Los Angeles World Cup 2026 Host Committee will hold a media event at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Inglewood venue, designated as “Los Angeles Stadium” for the tournament, to provide updates on operations, transportation, fan engagement and community planning, according to organizers.

Participants expected to attend include Host Committee CEO Kathryn Schloessman, co-chair Larry Freedman, NBA legend Earvin “Magic” Johnson, Metro CEO Stephanie Wiggins and Kroenke Sports and Entertainment President Kevin Demoff, among others.

Officials said the event will also include a preview of food and beverage offerings that will be available during the tournament’s eight matches at the stadium.

Los Angeles is slated to host eight World Cup matches, including five in the group stage beginning June 12 with the United States facing Paraguay. The Inglewood venue will also host two Round of 32 matches and a quarterfinal scheduled for July 10.

Organizers said additional preparations include the rollout of regional fan zones, transportation planning with expanded Metro service and the debut of special World Cup TAP cards for transit riders.

The 2026 World Cup, which will be held across the United States, Mexico and Canada, is expected to be the largest in the tournament’s history, featuring 104 matches.
