A tree limb of around 35 feet in length crashed into a truck and home in Santa Ana, but no one was hurt, the homeowner said Wednesday.
The limb came down onto a home at 2216 N. Spurgeon St. about 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, said Pedro Viaz, the homeowner. Viaz said he’s lived in the house for 11 years.
“I was getting some paperwork in my bedroom when we suddenly heard this loud crash,” Viaz said. “It scared me, my wife and our two children.”
Luckily, no one was hurt, he said. But the branch did damage his pickup truck parked in the driveway and then crashed into the home breaking one window. Viaz said he will have to wait until the city removes the branch to see what other damage the fallen limb did to his home.
Viaz said he called the fire department, which said the city would have to remove the branch because the tree was on city property.
“I don’t know why it came down but I am just glad no one was hurt,” Viaz said.
