A 40-year-old woman who is accused of forcing a 9-year- old boy to perform sex acts on a 6-year-old girl with threats of burning him with hot water faces multiple charges of sexual abuse of children when she’s arraigned next month.
Brandi Alma Valadez, being held on $1 million bail, has been charged with two counts of lewd acts on a child younger than 14, two counts of forcible lewd acts on a child younger than 14 and two counts of child abuse, all felonies. Valadez also faces a sentencing enhancement allegation for multiple victims.
Valadez, who was living in multiple cities out of motels in Orange, Costa Mesa and Anaheim at the time of the alleged incidents, did not enter a plea at her Monday arraignment, which was rescheduled for Nov. 4, according to Deputy District Attorney Whitney Bokosky.
The alleged incidents happened in the summer of 2014, Bokosky said.
The relationship between Valadez and the children was not released so as to protect to identities of the victims, prosecutors said.
Valadez allegedly threatened to put the boy in a hot bath that would burn him if he did not perform sex acts on the girl, Bokosky said.
Valadez is also accused under a legal theory of “aiding and abetting” of not stopping another individual from sexually assaulting the girl, Bokosky said.
Valadez was also accused of molesting the girl, Bokosky said.
The defendant faces a minimum of 30 years to life in prison if convicted at trial, Bokosky said.
